Not Just a Preschool, A Promise

InuPinu was never just an idea, it was a response from the heart. The idea began to take shape after the birth of our son, when we started exploring preschool options in our area. Like any caring parent, we weren’t looking for perfection, we were just hoping to find a space that felt warm, balanced, and nurturing. What we found instead was a landscape of compromises. Some schools had strong infrastructure, some had friendly staff, and others had structured routines, but none had all the elements that truly matter. Even more striking, almost every preschool seemed to focus on selling their infrastructure, the size of the rooms, the colors of the walls, the toys in the corner. But no one spoke about learning outcomes, teaching philosophies, or the child's long-term development.

We often said to each other: "Let real estate people sell infrastructure. An educational space should be rooted in educational values." That became a guiding principle.

During one of those reflective evenings, Varsha voiced what we were both feeling, there was a real gap in the market, and more importantly, in the way early education was being approached. She had always wanted to be a teacher, and with her rich experience in the education sector, she knew we could create something better. Something meaningful. That spark of an idea quickly turned into a shared vision: we would build the preschool we wished we had found for our son.

We didn’t want to replicate what already existed. We wanted to offer what was missing. A place where children are nurtured to be confident, self-sustained, and curious. A place where play isn't just permitted, it’s central to learning. A place where the goal isn’t just admission to the next school, but preparing children to become thoughtful, kind, and capable individuals, leaders of tomorrow.

We both brought our professional strengths into the project, blending them with our new identities as parents. Utkarsh, with over 12 years of experience as a product designer, began to look at the school through the lens of user experience. Every detail, from the layout of the classrooms to the way children transition between activities, was designed to feel intuitive, safe, and joyful. Nothing was left to chance. The flow of movement, the visual clarity of spaces, and the subtle emotional cues embedded in the environment were all carefully thought through. He applied the same principles he would use to design a digital product: empathy, iteration, and intentionality.

Varsha, on the other hand, brought her background as a seasoned product manager in the EdTech space and the invaluable perspective of a mother. Having spoken to hundreds of parents in her career, and now walking the parenting journey herself, she had a deep understanding of what families need. She mapped out systems that balanced warmth with structure. From building the curriculum and daily schedules to training the teachers and planning communication workflows, Varsha infused everything with empathy, insight, and purpose.

We designed the Discovery Zone as the heart of our school, a learning Discovery zone filled with Montessori-aligned materials where children could explore concepts through play. Each shelf, each material, each moment of engagement was selected with the intention to spark joy and curiosity. Our goal wasn’t just to teach letters and numbers, it was to raise children who love to learn.

Emotionally, every step in creating InuPinu was powerful. Finalizing the name was a journey in itself, rooted in softness, playfulness, and meaning. We spent weeks refining the uniform, choosing a fabric that felt soft on the skin and colors that sparked joy. The first time we saw a child wear it, something melted in our hearts. We still remember standing silently the day our signboard was put up, watching it go up felt like watching our dream take form in the real world. And that first enquiry? It brought tears. It reminded us that what we were building wasn’t just needed, it was wanted.

Together, we've built not just a preschool, but a world, a world where education starts with the heart, flows through thoughtful design, and leads to lifelong growth.
